He attended a high school basketball summer camp with his older brother and some friends where he tried out for the university team. Despite being a fast, highly capable player, he was not tall enough for the university team.  This failure did not make him give up however, instead he swore to work hard and shine as a basketball star.

Every time he faced a challenge, he remembered this experience and used it to motivate him to work harder. He has said himself that  that he has missed more than 9,000 basketball shots and lost more than 300 games. But by using these to push him harder, Michael Jordan is a basketball star and one of the most inspirational athletes today.

He continues his success as a businessman and is on the Forbes list of billionaires.
